Today, I found out that in New Zealand, where I live and grew up, there’s a mountain called Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu. It is the longest place name in an English speaking country. Guess what it means? “The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his nose flute to his loved one.” Oh yeah, we’re creative.
